In this world, everyone lives, and many live with great bravado. But how one chooses to live is the question that truly matters. I often say: "Some people merely breathe in the world of appearances, while others live in the world of ideas and become immortal."
Those who live in the world of appearances dedicate all their talents, energies, and potentials to conforming to the most popular, superficial trends of society. They chase whatever catches their eye. While a few in this race strive for moral excellence, the vast majority has completely sacrificed their lives at the altar of blind traditions and trivialities. They have become so blinded by mundane worldliness that they never pause to reflect on what they are doing, what the consequences of their actions are, or how they are impacting society and the lives of others.
Reflection, however, requires self-awareness. These individuals do not even realize how much their vanity and superficiality torment the lives of those around them. Countless dignified, middle-class people are forced by the iron shackles of these societal customs to compromise on their basic duties. Their daughters sit at home, unmarried, hollowed out from within by unfulfilled expectations, while entire families live under the shadow of an unknown dread. They are forced to spend the free life granted by God in the slavery of these social absurdities—a swamp from which escape has become beyond their power.
On the other side are those who feel the pain of those trapped in this societal bondage. They strive for the liberation of these oppressed souls, but they are too few in a population of billions, and their sphere of influence remains limited. They play their part according to their means, rescuing a handful of humans from this material dependency. Their role is deeply significant; it provides a breath of oxygen in a suffocating society and serves as a beautiful form of charity.
Yet, the truly remarkable people are those who live "ideological lives." They remain entirely indifferent to obsolete social customs, and the anxiety of "what will people say?" holds no weight in their eyes. Their consciousness has liberated them from material boundaries and anchored them within ideological horizons. They do not live bounded by geographical frontiers; they thrive in the vastness of ideas.
They understand that the shallow, hollow mindset of society holds no value against their intellectual height. For them, the ultimate goals are knowledge, righteous action, and the well-being of others. They recognize that they face a wall of ignorance, lack of knowledge, and simplicity, which they are destined to reform. If they, too, surrender and bow before the immature and superficial worldview of society, all hopes for betterment will perish.
These great souls share a single ideology: "the welfare of humanity." While the aspects, angles, and strategies of this mission may vary, the destination remains the same—to alleviate human suffering and cultivate a harmonious environment where living becomes easy for everyone. They seek to dissolve the classist, linguistic, financial, ritualistic, and geographical divisions created by man, teaching them the art of living under the universal banner of humanity.
Within these vast ideological horizons lies the "Realm of Ihsan" (the world of grace and benevolence). Here, a person realizes that their very creation was an act of pure benevolence—a grace in which their own will or effort played no part. Once blessed with this divine favor, their purpose becomes to value it by living a meaningful life, immortalizing their eternity by serving God’s creation.
Human history has witnessed many such individuals who received special guidance from the Creator of the universe and, in turn, became beacons of light for the world. Their distinguishing feature was that they were not merely champions of words, but embodiments of action. They did not just preach principles; they lived them, leaving behind timeless models of peace, forbearance, goodwill, and prosperity.
Reflecting upon these characters ultimately leads us to the true Creator. When a human recognizes their reality, their purpose, and their Creator, their entire world transforms. Living within a specific time and geography, they define their boundaries based on these universal principles and become permanent residents of this Realm of Ihsan. In this realm, gratitude for the blessings received and extending benevolence to other human beings becomes their ultimate duty. This virtue is their core faith and absolute certainty.
While history is adorned with many monumental figures—including Jesus, Moses, Albert Einstein, and others—the personality ranked number one on a global scale to this day is the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Therefore, I firmly believe that every impartial, right-thinking human who wishes to live within ideological boundaries must study his life at least once, to truly learn the art of living in the Realm of Ihsan.
